Waterfowl Week III – 2026

As Waterfowlers, we always want some wind. Wind to make the birds pick a direction to land. Wind to put a little wiggle in the decoys.  This week we had more than our share of wind. It can produce some birds nearly hovering on approach, that first shot is hard to miss. Then a 100 mile per hour flare as their wings catch the wind. Our hunters handled it very well.

Our morning duck hunt was almost as quick as the time to set up the decoys and blinds. Done in under an hour.

A morning crane hunt added the pile of "Rib Eye of the Sky" they will be feasting on later.

A final afternoon duck hunt went the same way as the previous duck hunt, a limit shoot in under an hour.
